Guard Your Heart
"Above all else guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." {Proverbs 4:23}
Recently, I've been listening to a song called "Guard Your Heart" written by Christian Pop group "1 Girl Nation".
I love the chorus, which says:
"Know your worth, 'cause you are priceless
more than gold, more than diamonds,
Be the light inside the dark,
Keep your faith and guard your heart,
it's where life, it's where love is,
Every beat has a purpose,
it holds everything you are,
Above all else, Guard Your Heart."
This is really important, because in today's culture we need to our hearts against the lies of the enemy and what culture tries to tell us- what we should eat, how we should dress, who we should be, how we should act, ect.
But listen up. Culture is always going to try to define us no matter what we do. If we don't guard our hearts, there will be a lot of heartbreak to deal with.

In the second half of this Bible verse it says, "for everything you do flows from it." Everything we do flows from our hearts, our actions, our reactions, our feelings.
The first verse says:
"In the middle of this crazy, messed up world we live in,

Surrounded by voices pressuring us to give in,
Believe me, I get it,
I know you wanna fit in,
Everybody's telling you
What your missing,
But don't listen to anything but the truth"
Don't listen to the voices surrounding you. Stop, take a deep breath, focus on God, and just listen to what His word says.
The most important thing you could ever do is to pray, trust God with your future, and above everything else?
