Guard Your Heart

    "Above all else guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." {Proverbs 4:23}       Recently, I've been listening to a song called "Guard Your Heart" written by Christian Pop group "1 Girl Nation".  I love the chorus, which says: "Know your worth, 'cause you are priceless more than gold, more than diamonds, Be the light inside the dark, Keep your faith and guard your heart, it's where life, it's where love is, Every beat has a purpose, it holds everything you are, Above all else, Guard Your Heart."     This is really important, because in today's culture we need to our hearts against the lies of the enemy and what culture tries to tell us- what we should eat, how we should dress, who we should be, how we should act, ect.     But listen up. God's Shining Lights....

     The other night I watched the movie  I'm Not Ashamed .    It’s the story of Rachel Joy Scott, a student at Columbine High School shot and killed during the April 1999 school shooting.   She was targeted because of her faith, because she was a Christian, who refused to back down from her beliefs.   Did she struggle with her faith at times?  Yes.  Was she mocked by her peers because she was a Christian?  Yep.  Did she ever think it wasn't worth it? Yeah.  But God used her and her story to change lives.        While watching   I'm Not Ashamed  I realized I want to be one of those whose faith is so strong she stands out to others and they see her faith and want it too, and if being mocked and treated badly for standing for what's right, and being different in every way means losing friends so be it.   I want friends around me tha...

Laying It Down

    Yesterday I started reading a devotional called "Open Hands" written by Christian Recording Artist Laura Story and today's devotional talked about letting go of our problems and laying them at God's feet instead of trying to deal with our situations on our own.
